Green County Sheriff – July 27, 2020

All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The following incidents occurred on Monday, July 27, 2020:

Motor Vehicle Crash / OWI Arrest:
At approximately 8:38 a.m., Deputies and the New Glarus Fire Department, responded to the N8200 block of Zentner Rd in the Town of New Glarus for a report of a vehicle versus tree crash.  Investigation revealed that Evan R. Dorn, 25, New Glarus, WI, was traveling northbound when his vehicle collided with a tree that had fallen and was in the roadway.  Dorn reported that he was not injured in the crash.  The vehicle sustained functional damage and was later driven from the scene by another subject.

Following an investigation into the incident, Dorn was arrested for Operate While under the Influence (drugs) 1st Offense.  Dorn was further charged with Resisting an Officer and Criminal Damage to Property.  Dorn was cited for Inattentive Driving.  Dorn was incarcerated in the Green County Jail and was later released pending a court appearance after the posting of bond.   

The New Glarus Township responded and removed the tree from the roadway.

Probation and Parole Arrest:
At approximately 1:37 p.m., Deputies responded to the Green County Probation and Parole Office in the City of Monroe and arrested Douglas B. Scace, 49, Browntown, WI, who had a Probation Hold placed on him by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.  Scace was incarcerated in the Green County Jail.
