Green County Sheriff – January 23, 2020

The following events occurred on January 23rd, 2020:

All person’s arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Motor Vehicle Crash – Property Damage:

At approximately 5:20 AM, Deputies responded to the N6000 blk State HWY 69, Town of Mt. Pleasant, for a reported single vehicle crash.

Investigation revealed that a vehicle driven Daniel G Meighan, 35, Monroe, was northbound on State HWY 69, when Meighan lost control, due to snow covered roadway. Meighan’s vehicle entered the ditch and overturned.

Meighan reported wearing his seatbelt and no injuries. The vehicle sustained moderate damage with no airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.

Motor Vehicle Crash – Property Damage:

At approximately 12:18 PM, Deputies responded to a single vehicle crash in the N8300 blk Postville Rd., Town of York.

Investigation revealed that a vehicle driven by Cody R Ganster, 24, Lake Mills, lost control of the vehicle while backing down a driveway. Ganster’s vehicle slid into the ditch and overturned.

Ganster reported wearing his seatbelt and no injuries. The vehicle sustained moderate damage with no airbag deployment and was towed from the scene.

Motor Vehicle Crash – Personal Injury

At approximately 1:51 PM, Deputies, along with Juda Fire Dept. and Green County EMS, responded to the W2200 blk State HWY 11, Town of Spring Grove, for a two vehicle crash with injuries.

Investigation revealed that a vehicle driven by Sadie A Heilprin, 24, Platteville, was eastbound when she did not see the vehicle in front of her slowing to turn. Heilprin collided with the vehicle, driven by Robert L Hosh, 38, Juda.

Heilprin reported wearing her seatbelt and being injured. She was transported from the scene by ambulance for further evaluation. Heilprin’s vehicle sustained severe damage with airbag deployment and was towed from the scene. Hosh reported wearing his seatbelt and no injuries. His vehicle sustained moderate damage with no airbag deployment and was driven from the scene.

Heilprin was cited for inattentive driving and was released pending court.
