The Northside Elementary African Ensemble performed two pieces at the annual State of Education address held at the Capitol on September 19th, 2020. The group opened the event playing “Sunyani”, and concluded the program with “Drum with a Passion.”
The Ensemble is under the direction of Sarah Hass-Bodell, Music Teacher at Northside Elementary.
The State of Education Address was presented by State Superintendent Carolyn Stanford Taylor. The event featured students from across Wisconsin performing throughout the program.
Following the State of Education Address, Superintendent Stanford Taylor presented five Friend of Education Awards and recognized Wisconsin’s Teachers of the Year.
